DC Boxing and Wrestling Commission
The DC Boxing and Wrestling Commission (Commission) regulates boxing, wrestling, martial arts and mixed martial arts within the District of Columbia, and protects participants and consumers by upholding the District of Columbia Boxing and Wrestling license law (pdf). The Boxing and Wrestling license law is defined by the District of Columbia Boxing and Wrestling Commission Act of 1975, as amended by the District of Columbia Boxing and Wrestling Commission Act—Amendment of 1976 and the District of Columbia Boxing and Wrestling Commission Act Amendment Act of 1988. The Board consists of three members appointed by the Mayor and approved by the D.C. Council. All members must be residents of the District of Columbia for the duration of their term. The Board meets on the second Tuesday of each month (recess July and August) at 7:00 p.m. at the DCRA headquarters, located at 1100 4th Street SW, Washington, DC 20024.
