Dismissal of OOG-2025-0051 (Out-of-State Public Body)

On February 27, 2025, Director Allen reviewed and dismissed an Open Meetings Act complaint (OOG-2025-0051) due to not having jurisdiction over Boards and Commissions in the State of Michigan. The dismissal letter (advisory opinion) provides the statutory basis for the dismissal - the Director of Open Government must dismiss complaints that fall outside of her jurisdiction. The dismissal included information for contacting Michigan state authorities that regulate meetings and the conduct of government officials.
