The Developmental Disabilities Fatality Review Committee (DD FRC) is a multidisciplinary team of District residents, community based providers and government leaders who convene monthly to review the circumstances surrounding the deaths of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  The mission of the DD FRC is to reduce the number of preventable deaths  through identifying, evaluating and improving services and systems responsible for protecting and supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  The DD FRC's case review meetings are closed to the public in accordance with “§2-575(b)(1) law or court order requires that a particular matter or proceeding not be public;  §  2-575(b)(14) to plan, discuss, or hear reports concerning ongoing or planned investigations of alleged criminal or civil misconduct or violations of law or regulations, if disclosure to the public would harm the investigation, and § 7-1305.12  which provides that “[all] information contained in an individual's (with developmental disabilities) records shall be considered privileged and confidential.”
