The functions of the Advisory Board are to:

  1. Provide recommendations on strategies for the creation of employment opportunities through the redevelopment of the East Campus;
  2.  Make recommendations on the method and manner of attracting small and local businesses to the East Campus and the surrounding area;
  3.  Provide recommendations on strategies for community-based redevelopment policies and activities that will support positive growth at the East Campus and the surrounding area;
  4.  Make recommendations on strategies for supporting and capitalizing on the federal government's redevelopment of the West Campus of St. Elizabeths; and
  5. Provide recommendations on advancing innovation strategies, including how to attract science and technology companies to the East Campus.
